The new www.tiscover.com site was launched on 1 May. It offers comprehensive information on regions, ski areas, lakes, and more than 25,000 accommodations of all categories. The tourism industry will particularly benefit from increased marketing opportunities for accommodation providers.
www.tiscover.com Sees Increased Bookings for Austria
The trend towards online travel bookings continues. In 2008, www.tiscover.com achieved a booking increase for Austria of 15% over 2007. The year 2009 has also started off well for Tiscover: In January, bookings increased by 17% compared to last year.
Tiscover Internet Auction Raises € 3,000 for SOS Children’s Village
For the first time, the travel portal www.tiscover.com was the main sponsor of the 2008/09 Jack Wolfskin Four Hills Tournament. With the help of sales service provider 123Boerse, unique souvenirs and exclusive items provided by top winter sports athletes were sold by auction, which raised over 3,000 euros for the SOS Children’s Village.

80 percent of Europeans use the Internet for online travel planning. The revenue from travel & tourism in Western Europe is estimated to be over 50 billion euros in 2008. The revamped Scottish tourism web portal www.VisitScotland.com meets this trend by incorporating a number of changes such as more information services and online bookable accommodation.
