The new www.tiscover.com site was launched on 1 May. It offers comprehensive information on regions, ski areas, lakes, and more than 25,000 accommodations of all categories. The tourism industry will particularly benefit from increased marketing opportunities for accommodation providers.

'My bed in the Alps' is the claim of Tiscover's new Alpine Portal, www.tiscover.com. “We've got a clear customer promise. No other travel portal offers more bookable accommodation in the Alps”, says Konrad Plankensteiner, CEO Tiscover.

New marketing opportunities for hotels

Membership on Tiscover's Alpine Portal is free for accommodation providers. A commission fee will only apply for successful bookings. Selling available rooms on www.HRS.de and via large-scale themed campaigns is also free of charge. “We provide hoteliers with marketing opportunities, especially in times of economic difficulty. The reason we can do this is that we, along with our parent company HRS, attract 5.5 million users per month,“ says Tiscover Marketing CEO Matthias Grundböck.

Wide range of offers

In leisure travel, picking a hotel largely depends on the offers provided by the destination. www.tiscover.com provides users with comprehensive information on 2,000 towns and regions, 800 ski areas and more than 700 lakes. Many new search options (via interactive maps and topics) assist guests in quickly finding the right product and information. Search results can conveniently be filtered according to a number of criteria and then be compared. The online booking process has been simplified. For example, credit card information is no longer required. “Tiscover's Alpine Portal fills a market niche. The Alps are one of the most popular destinations among Europeans. Tiscover makes planning and booking easier and quicker”, says Konrad Plankensteiner.

Tiscover facts

Tiscover, headquartered in Innsbruck (Tirol/Austria), was founded in 1991 as TIS GmbH and developed Austria’s first electronic tourism information system. TIS@WEB, one of the world’s first travel sites, was launched in 1995. In March 2008, meanwhile transformed into a corporation, TISCOVER AG was taken over by Colgone-based HRS - HOTEL RESERVATION SERVICE Robert Ragge GmbH. Tiscover presently has about 80 employees and 40 freelancers.
