The company was founded as TIS GmbH (Tirol Informations System, later: Travel Information Systems) in 1991 and became a publicly listed company (Tiscover AG) in 2000. In March 2008 the HRS – HOTEL RESERVATION SERVICE Robert Ragge GmbH, which has its headquarters in Cologne/Germany, acquired the majority holding in the Austrian Tiscover AG and their subsidiary companies of Tiscover Deutschland GmbH in Munich/Germany, Tiscover Italia Srl in Trento/Italy and Tiscover UK Ltd. in Crawley (West Sussex).
HRS was founded in 1972 and has a total of 330 employees today – with branch offices in Paris, London, Shanghai and Warsaw. HRS provides a world-wide electronic hotel reservation system for private and business travelers, supported by a data base which comprises more than 225,000 hotels and accommodations.
